K-12 Urban Education
K-12 Urban education endeavors to create empathy, knowledge, and understanding. By participating in an Urban Education program kids will be able to better understand what poverty is and the challenges that people in poverty face on a daily basis. We encourage active learning through the Game of Life, Penny Game, Food Stamp Challenge, Downtown Denver Walking Tour, or an hour with one of our previously homeless speakers. We offer à la carte curriculum options to fit your needs – click on one of the links above for more details about each activity.
Whether it is in our classroom or yours, the Urban Education curriculum is a must for students of all ages looking to learn more about their communities. We hope that this will empower students to actively work to better their community by inspiring hope, transforming lives, and working to end poverty.
